Excerpts from the First Discussion Session: "The Role of Civil Society in Sustaining Local Administrations.” within the framework of the "National Dialogue on Local Administration– Partnership for Development".
The session highlighted the role of civil society in sustaining local administrations in Jordan by reviewing current experiences, identifying the challenges and opportunities facing civil society and local administrations in achieving sustainability, and exploring mechanisms for cooperative relationships between them. It also sought to define the roles civil society can play in strengthening sustainability and achieving local development.
This session is part of the activities under the first component of the project “NAZAHA: EU Support to Social Accountability and Empowering Civil Society for Better Governance," implemented by Al-Hayat Center - RASED and co-funded by the European Union and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
